Towards a High-Level Controlled Language for Legal Sources on the Semantic Web
نویسندگان
چکیده
Accessing legal regulations and legislation on the web should be improved by semantic annotation of legal rules. However, producing this type of annotations is challenging because legal language is difficult to parse automatically and any annotation involves a part of interpretation. We argue that an extended controlled language must be defined to address that issue. We present aspects of a controlled language required for such use and outline an incremental approach that supports the annotation/interpretation work to transform complex, legal natural language into a machine-parsable form.

Controlled Language Applications Workshop ( CLAW )
The texts of legislation and regulation must be structured and augmented in order to allow for semantic web services (querying, linking, and inference). However, it is difficult to accurately parse and semantically represent such texts due to conventional practices of the legal community, the length and complexity of legal language, and the textual ground of the law. Controlled natural language...
متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
متن کاملAn Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...

The increasing reliance on information gathered from the web and other internet technologies raise the issue of trust. Through the development of semantic Web, One major difficulty is that, by its very nature, the semantic web is a large, uncensored system to which anyone may contribute. This raises the question of how much credence to give each resource. Each user knows the trustworthiness of ...
